5 Days / 4 Nights Merzouga Desert Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Depart early from Marrakech and travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), enjoying panoramic views of Berber villages and mountain landscapes. Visit the historic Telouet Kasbah (optional depending on route), then continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified ksars used in many international films. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” before heading through the Valley of Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Arrive in the stunning Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, travel deeper into southern Morocco through the dramatic Dades landscapes and continue towards the Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls create one of the most impressive natural sites in the country. Enjoy a short walk before continuing through Tinjdad and Erfoud, famous for fossils and date palm oases. By afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where your desert adventure begins. Ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping to watch the sunset over the Sahara. Dinner and overnight in a luxury desert camp under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Exploration (4×4 Experience)

Wake up in the heart of the Sahara and enjoy sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the desert region by 4×4, visiting nomadic families who still live in traditional tents and learning about their lifestyle. Continue to Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music heritage, and enjoy a live performance. Explore desert landscapes, fossil areas, and hidden oases around Erg Chebbi. Return to your hotel in Merzouga for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Depart Merzouga and visit Rissani, the ancient capital of the Alaouite dynasty and an important trading town. Continue through Alnif and Nkob, passing dramatic desert and volcanic landscapes. Enter the spectacular Draa Valley, the largest palm grove valley in Morocco, with endless kasbahs and oasis scenery. Stop in Agdz for panoramic views before continuing to Ouarzazate for overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, return to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again. Enjoy scenic stops along the way for photos and panoramic views. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon or evening. End of the tour.
